But It is truly a must see destination in western central part of Maharashtra at the distance of around 280 km from Mumbai and 175 km from Nasik.

Tourist Places in Ahmednagar

The city has numerous historical places that are still available. Some of the famous places include Ahmednagar Fort, Tomb of Salabat Khan II, Baugh Rauza Ahmed Nizam Shah, Tank Museum, Shani Shinganapur, Newasa, Meherabad and many others.

Ahmednagar Fort is the prime attraction built in 1490 by Ahmed Nizam Shah – featuring 18 meter high walls supported by 22 bastions. Being one of the impregnable forts in India, It is a must see destination in the city. However, it is now under the Military of India.

Shani Shinganapur is also a must see destination during your Ahmednagar tour. Lies at the distance of 6 km off Ghodengaon (at the distance of 35 km from Ahmednagar), It is known for is famous Shani temple. The village has no doors at any home still and no theft has been occurred ever here. It is said that Lord Shani guards the village. Ancient marketplaces, surrounding cities and other attractions are also wonderful that keep you enticed and spell bound for the time to come.
