Being the pride of Madya Pradesh Tourism, Katni is a small town located on the banks of Katni River in Madhya Pradesh. It has been influenced by cultures of three different regions- Mahakausal, Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand. Katni is also known as Mudwara. Important Katni attractions include Bahoriband, Vijayraghavgarh, Roopnath and Bilhary. Bahoriband is famous for a 12 feet tall statue of Jain Teerthankar Shantinath. The Vijayraghavgarh fort is located at a distance of nearly 33 km from the town, and is famous for the temple of Lord Vijayraghav.
